Meet Your Guide
John Glanvill developed the Calmness in Mind Process after overcoming anxiety himself and spending twenty years helping others retrain their minds.
A NOTE FROM JOHN
“My work has always been driven by a simple mission... to help reduce the suffering caused by anxiety by helping people understand how their minds really work.”
John Glanvill created the Calmness in Mind Process after overcoming severe anxiety, OCD and depression himself, and after spending more than twenty years helping others whose minds had become trapped in the same patterns.
His work focuses on helping thoughtful, intelligent people understand how anxiety really works, so they can retrain their responses and begin living with greater calm, clarity and confidence.
JOHN'S STORY
For many years John struggled with intense anxiety, intrusive thoughts and depression. Like many people searching for answers, he explored a wide range of approaches and therapies, yet something still felt missing.
What eventually changed everything was learning to understand how the mind and body actually work together. Once those patterns became clear, it became possible to retrain the response to anxiety rather than continually fighting against it.
The Calmness in Mind Process grew from that realisation.
What began as John’s personal journey gradually evolved into a structured approach that has helped many others who felt stuck in the same cycle of anxious thinking.
His work focuses on helping thoughtful, intelligent people understand how anxiety really works, so they can retrain their responses and begin living with greater calm, clarity and confidence.
Twenty Years Supporting People with Anxiety
Over the past two decades John has worked with people experiencing complex anxiety conditions including OCD, intrusive thoughts, panic disorders and chronic self-doubt.
Many of the people he supports are thoughtful and highly intelligent individuals whose minds have simply become overactive and trapped in patterns of fear and self-analysis.
John’s approach focuses on helping people understand these patterns clearly, so they can begin responding differently and gradually rebuild a calmer relationship with their thoughts.
A Practical, Calm Approach
The Calmness in Mind Process does not rely on complicated theory or abstract psychology.
Instead, it focuses on clear explanations, practical understanding and simple ways to retrain how the mind and body respond to anxiety.
Many people discover that once they understand the mechanisms behind their anxiety, the experience becomes far less mysterious and far less frightening.
From that point, real change becomes possible.
The Calmness in Mind Process
The Calmness in Mind programme brings together John’s personal experience and professional work into a structured, self-paced course designed to help people understand anxiety and gradually retrain their responses.
Inside the programme you’ll find video lessons, guided meditations, written insights and practical exercises that help you understand how anxiety works and how to develop a calmer way of engaging with life.
